    CONTESTS & PROMOTIONS

    RIKA at The Beaumont
    FEBRUARY 13th - MARCH 31st

RIKA: This collection focuses on the Coast of the Pacific Northwest and features highly stylized Oceanscapes that are boldly brushed & ornately detailed. Rika uses dark, broad sweeping lines to express the ocean's power and movement which are contrasted by the bright gold leaf that adorns the surfaces. He relies on the natural tendencies of watercolors to create the moody stormy skies most often seen in these West Coast seas.

To complete and compliment these pieces, Rika has collaborated with furniture designer and frame worker Tyler J. Harris of Happy Valley Wood. Tyler has hand crafted one-of-a-kind cedar wood frames from local B.C reclaimed cedar driftwood.

All mediums and material are organic and respectful of the environment.

    Nixxi

It’s fierce, it’s edgy, and it’s feminine while on the verge of converting to masculine, it’s “Nixxi”.

The Vancouver owned and operated business has been creating luxurious hemp, soy, bamboo and organic linen clothing under the talented direction of Jada-lee Watson since early 2007.

With an ongoing dedication to creating and maintaining sustainable business practices, in unison with sustainable products, Jada–lee supports the movement of “living green” while putting efforts back into her local economy.

“Most local designers are producing in smaller numbers with an attention to detail and quality. You may spend a little bit more for this, rather than the less expensive mass-produced styles, but you end up with a unique design that lasts through many seasons.”

Just one look at the S/S 2010 collection and it is visible that Nixxi is designed for those of us who dare to push the fashion envelope just slightly, while forcing onlookers to question, “Where did she get that from!”
